Hand and Wrist

hand and wristCarpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) usually results from repetitive use injuries such as typing, hammering and over use of the wrist. It is a painful compression of a nerve in the wrist that can severely frustrate your ability to use the wrist and the hand. CTS is a condition that can increasingly worsen without the proper care and treatment. Some treatment options include rest and ice or your hand may be immobilized with a splint. A physician may also recommend non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, steroid injections and/or physical therapy. If these methods are not effective surgery may be recommended to ease pressure on the median nerve.
